How do you direct your flash with a gary fong lightsphere?

Do you point the flash up, bounce, or direct at subject?





I have an SB600 interested in low light portrait indoors and events.How do you direct your flash with a gary fong lightsphere?
You can do either, more often you will use it upright, but it can be used pointed toward the subject. The Lightsphere will come with a video that shows you the different approaches to using it.How do you direct your flash with a gary fong lightsphere?
Gary Fond sphere is actually designed to create an all-around glow/light and should not be aimed directly but ideally bounced.





Consider investing (around $50) into a small softbox that works with a flash unit. I got one and use it with an SB28 on a light stand off camera. The directional light control and yet a softer light adds a lot.
You usually aim at the subject you can also bounce it off ceiling for even more diffused light. Below is links to videos of it in use:
