How do I install a flash and everything it needs on a basic Nikon F2 Photomic 35mm SLR camera?

I have everything that comes on the normal Nikon F2 Photomic SLR but no hot shoe, coupler, sync switch, wires, or any of that stuff, none of which I know is necessary. So yeah, any list of stuff needed and recommends on how to install/set them up would be great.

Thanks!

The hot shoe adapter is called an AS-1, for a Nikon F, and F2. Plus the flash should be auto but not dedicated a good cheap flash is Vivitar 283, or 285 HVHow do I install a flash and everything it needs on a basic Nikon F2 Photomic 35mm SLR camera?
Wow that's a classic--I had the F2AS

The hotshoe--doesn't exist, until you mount one, on the rewind knob. It's an adaptor.

The reason is that the metering thingie on the top doesn't have any room for a flash.

Otherwise you'd have to use the PC (cable) and fire off a flash off of the camera.
You need to get an F2 hotshoe, which mounts on the rewind knob.

You can find one on ebay:

Your flash unit will need a pc synch cord. If your flash unit doesn't have one, you can get a hotshoe adapter that has one.

Then all you will need is a PC synch cord.
