How can you stop the flash in a digital camera?

I have the model of Pentax E30 and the flash is wayy too bright!, I dont want the flash to come how do I do that? How can you stop the flash in a digital camera?
there is a button that looks like lighting.

if you press it, it will change (on the screen, not on the button)

to things like a lighting with an A next to it (Auto) or a lighteing with a circle or cross with it. That turns off the flash.

But also, pictures without flash often turn out blurry. How can you stop the flash in a digital camera?
Press the four-way controller's left arrow button while in the camera mode. The flash mode changes each time the button is pressed. You can also change the setting using the four-way controller's up and down arrows. Select the 2nd from the top icon. Press the OK button. This is also how you change from all the available flash modes: Auto, Off, On, Auto + Red-eye, and Flash On + Red-eye.
There's a little lightning bolt symbol by the flash button on almost all cameras. Just hit that until you see a symbol on the screen that suggests there being no flash (usually a circle with a line through it).
Find the button that looks like a lightening bolt, and click it until it has a line through it.
